Being a survey of the hamlet from the earliest times, with an account of its ancient manors and its inhabitants. From manuscripts prepared and collected by the late Alexander McKenzie. Supplemented by extracts from the deeds and court rolls at hatfield House; also from other unpublished records and original sources. First edition and rare. Original nearly loose boards showing some surface damage to rear, lacks spine and last page of index. All plates and maps seem to be present. The text block is in excellent order and this book may benefit from some rebinding. Contemporary ink name to front endpaper. Nevertheless a very well produced and scarce local history.
