Large 8vo. 408pp. +2pps ads. Publisher's blue gilt titled cloth boards. A lovely copy with slight bumping, a little scuffing and wear to the extremities, solid, clean and distinguished. Signed copies of this printing were given away by Newnes's Strand Magazine as prizes. A fascintaing autobiographical account of Conan Doyle's life, also contains the first appearance of The Adventure of The Two Collaborators; a Sherlock Holmes pastiche created by Doyle's friend and fellow author J.M. Barrie describing Holmes death at a a time when Doyle was feeling increasingly put upon by the success of his creation. Price: 750.00 GBP

Green and Gibson A10. Original light blue cloth over bevelled boards, a.e.g., front cover and spine blocked and lettered in gilt and black. Grey flower and leaf endpapers. Hinges starting, a tight expertly recased example with foxing throughout. Some overall wear to the covers with some loss to the gilt. Nevertheless a good example of one of the finest detective works ever written. Price: 550.00 GBP
